Stage is Set for Monrovia Transit Center
Ground was broken on yet another transit oriented development along the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension. A crowd of city and transit officials gathered in front of the historic Santa Fe train depot in the City of Monrovia to celebrate the beginning of the Station Square project, a mixed-use development that will combine residential and retail space with a number of transit amenities.
City of Monrovia Mayor and Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority Board Member, Rob Hammond welcomed attendees to the much anticipated event. The site has been selected as the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension light rail stop for the City of Monrovia. The Station Square project will add over 200 parking spaces and connection amenities for Foothill Transit, MTA and municipal bus service. The historic train depot will be restored as part of the project
